I have worked with the arduino off and on for about a year. If you want some help or some shields I also have few lcds to get you started.

I would like to help build the book scanner. I can help with the frame fabrication. I recommend building the outer components that the book will abrade against with thin gauge stainless steel. The inventors used aluminum and noted that it left residue on the books which I would have guessed. I have the stainless and i can also cut, bend and weld it.
