Subject: Arduino serial and i2c with just the 8mhz?

Does anyone know if using the regular 328P chip without a crystal (to use
the onboard 8MHz) will still allow you to do serial communication as well
as i2c, or is it too slow or unreliable without the 16MHz crystal setup?

Thanks.
Jeff
