I bought a new computer and it turns out that the bios is old and doesn't support my current processor. To fix this, I need to temporarily use a slightly older processor and update the bios. I imagine I only need this older processor for 10-15 minutes. If you have one of the following processors, please let me know if I can borrow it! (I can do the work at the space).

what motherboard is it mind i ask ?         ive had some in the past that the manufacturer hadnt released any newer bios's themselves but had some nice hacked bios's that had been patched ,       elite group k7s5a for example

also http://www.openfirmware.info/Welcome_to_OpenBIOS     ive had some that supported that an its alternative/hacked up children

Asus Maximus IV Gene-Z/Gen3

The last updated bios was June 2012, which added support for the processor. Thanks for the links to the other bios pages, but the computer simply won't POST until I get another processor in it.

dunno how desperate you are but you could  try addin that CPU's Microcode yourself ,

Nightforce" had outlined the procedure for adding a new CPU code to newer AWARD BIOS
