We're conducting a nationwide search for a Director of Software Engineering. This is a very high level role and will oversee a large team of product engineers. I was thinking you might be able to get the word out w/in your LVL1 club since they are uber geeks. 

Here is the job description:

Title:

Director of Software Engineering

General Purpose:

Lead the technical staff within the software product development group.  Provide both managerial and technical leadership.  Specifically responsible for software engineering, quality assurance, and product design sub-teams.  Lead the creation of great software products for our internal and external customers.

Role Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree
• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• 5+ years of management experience

Position Responsibilities:

• Provide strong leadership, technical expertise and management for a department that will be growing to 15-20+ software & QA engineers and product designers.
• Manage systems, practices, careers, recruitment and culture.
• Work hands-on with the software engineers to architect, design and develop great products for our external and internal customers.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Must demonstrate a strong customer focus, a passion for software development & quality assurance, and inspiring passion in others
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Software development and architecture experience (in the web space) with Object Oriented languages (PHP, Ruby, Python, .NET, Java, etc.)
• Experience with LAMP Stack
• Experience and/or working knowledge of agile development methodologies and principles
• Knowledge and experience with source & version control and automated testing
• Experience developing and implementing performance metrics
• Demonstrated experience successfully collaborating with Product Management, IT and other project stakeholders to to meet quality, performance, scale and feature requirements for each software release

Valued but not required skills and experience:

• Data Warehouse design experience      
• Working knowledge of CodeIgniter PHP platform desirable
• Working knowledge of Web services and Ajax desirable

Special Position Requirements:
Light travel is a requirement for this position.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position will mentor and lead a growing team of at least 10 software & QA engineers.
