I visited Butchertown Market yesterday. I know the owner, Andy
Blieden. He wasn't able to show me the space because the tenant with
the key is out of town for the week. The space is in the same building
where Dan works and Andy tells me that he has seen it, so maybe he can
tell us about it.

Photos of the building are here:

Here's the overview. The building is located at 1201 Story Ave. in
Butchertown. The space is 1700 sq. ft. with 1500 on the second floor
of the building and 200 on the third. The main floor has 16 ft.
ceilings and is one large open space. There is also access to the roof
where we could build a deck. The rent is $775 per month for a 1 year
lease. Sounds good, but the space is totally unfinished. Currently it
is being used for storage. There is no AC or heat or even a bathroom.
Andy will run the water lines, but unless we want to pay more rent,
installing a bathroom, kitchen, walls, etc. is up to us. He will also
do AC and heat for additional rent. On the other hand he is willing to
let us build it however we want with his approval on the plans.

The building is zoned heavy industrial. The tenant on the first floor
is a custom furniture maker and he has some hefty tools already
installed in his place. There is already 220 power with 3-phase a
possibility. Utilities are included. I forgot to ask about internet
access, but the building is full of businesses that are computer heavy
so its probably available easily. There is a parking lot and parking
passes are included in the rent. The Blind Pig is across the parking
lot for those familiar with it.
