Hey all,
If you have an aluminum MacBook or MacBook Pro, I could really use your help.
I need to borrow your internal DVD drive for about a day. I have been an Apple Certified technician, and can perform the swap easily without any damage.

My DVD drive was removed for additional HD space, but windows can only be installed from DVD on this Mac, and my DVD drive has gotten lost in moving.

Thanks,
Dan

Just a suggestion, as I've found myself in the same boat before.  You can actually use an external usb superdrive on a MacBook Pro.  You have to edit a simple file on the Mac to allow it to use it.  For some absurd reason Apple tells non MacBook Airs to completely ignore the usb superdrive.

Cory, the consensus on the Internet is that that does not work for booting windows for most macs.  I'm done trying questionable things, I've already spent about 80 hours trying everything else on this problem.

Thanks,
Dan
