Given that there are quite a number of makers and maker-admirers here at LVL1 I thought I'd invite everyone out to my family reunion, er, I mean the 43rd Annual Knifemaker's Guild Show taking place at the Seelbach Hilton Hotel here in Louisville.  It's possible to print free passes from the website and I can get some passes as well (my uncle is the president of the guild - hence the joke above).  They also sell some supplies and tools so it's a great place to find exotic woods and horns, decorative screws and such, grinding and polishing and other supplies, various steels, including some gorgeous damascuses (I recommend talking to Brad at Alabama Damascus; tell him I sent you!  I plan on buying a damascus tomahawk head from him) and lots of things and ideas you might find apply to your personal projects.  It's a great chance to meet some high-level craftsmen and ask them questions and admire their work, too.

I'd be willing to lead a LVL1 contingent/tour if there's enough interest from our members and I can see about organizing that with the event staff.  I'll also be interested in inviting interested makers over to see our little shop/space and perhaps meet some members and see what sort of crazy stuff we get into...

Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions!
