Hello, all--

I have a friend coming in from out of town, and he'd like to attend a class in Arduinos.  I attended LVL1 some time ago and watched an arduino build session.  The LVL1 facility would be perfect for the class.  So I'm interested in finding out if anyone could put a class together for us.  I'll try to get a reasonable sized group together (I think I'll be able to get 5 or so to attend).  If anyone is interested, I'll need to find out how much it will cost, and what we need to bring with us.

He's very technical in electronics and hardware, and pretty good in software.  A course that starts out with the basics and rapidly advances would be good. I'll try to get a few topics we'd like to see put together.

So, if anyone can help us out with a class, please contact me at marco dot mason (a) gmail dot com or mmason (a) npc dot net or just reply to this post and I'll catch it in the daily digest.

Thank you,

--marco

I attended the Freeduino build class.  Though I'm not a member, I drove from Lexington and loved the experience, I'd love to see more of these types of things.  Heck, another Freeduino build class would be a nice refresher.  I have a friend who wanted to get in on the last class.  So that's potentially two more to add to the list.

I know at least a few of us that attended the sumo-bot workshop last year around halloween (and a few co-workers that are jealous they missed out) would be interested in a class like marco is describing.

Just wanted to pass on that there is definitely interest from some non-member, lvl1 group lurkers.

I think I can do a class or two in September and October.  My summer is too crazy right now.  I have two classes that I have created curriculum for... digital and analog.  Most of my curriculum is online if you want to read ahead.  http://wiki.lvl1.org/February_Freeduino_Frenzy and http://wiki.lvl1.org/Freediuino_Spring_Training  Anyone want to volunteer to do a freeduino soldering workshop prior to mine?

Brian

PS As I was writing this email, I stumbled upon this... http://wiki.lvl1.org/Freeduino_Games  Who wrote these games?  Awesome!

Marco,

I'll respond to you and Jerry in a separate email, but expect a workshop in late-august.

Everyone else:  Expect a workshop in late August!  Not sure about the details, but due to timing, it'll probably be very similar to some workshop we've done in the past.

I added those Freeduino Games game-based workshop materials from
things I found online. A few months ago I posted about it here but it
is way down in the old postings now. We did the "Truck Lane" game
pretty much as-is, and I added a Processing-based graphical interface
to the "Whack A Mole" game. Both were tested in the 2012 Spring Gadget
Lab which really got a huge boost from the LVL1 course materials,
