The Iso 192 design we've done uses Cherry switches. These switches
have some through holes to place a 2 pin LED in the switch, so we've
thought about it. The design would require a bi-polar 2-pin
color-changing LED and some heroic trace layout. But yes we've been
thinking about something like this!
