Dust collector

Why is there a dust collector downstairs. Obviously no one is using it since I spent 45 minutes yesterday cleaning out the sawdust( approximately 6")  from the table saw chute.

it was connected it was just there was 6" of  dust in bottom of the saw. Someone wasn't using it.

I suppose it's possible it wasn't used for awhile, became clogged and the dust collector would not draw anymore. people would turn it on not knowing it was clogged. and the build-up would continue.

IF it is meant to be used full time with the table saw, why not just use a relay (double pole or two relays) to actuate both at the same time?

We need to add the dust collector setup to the SWF list, this was something that was started but never completed.

Dust collector in the corner out of the way with a pipe across the ceiling with connections to each of the machines that have dust making abilities. The person who started working on this just ran out of time to do it.

Someone remind me tonight and I'll vinyl cut a sign to put on the table saw to remind people to turn on the dust collector when they use it.

I'm partially responsible. I didn't realize it was connected. I used to use it with the old saw, but totally forgot it existed since the new one.  Sorry about that, I will use it going forward. A good reminder to think. I guess I assumed it was being spirited away by the dust fairies or something.
