Hi.  One of my PCs is an LGA 775 socket type.  The PC got messed up from a lightening strike and won't post. I've tried swapping the power supply with no positive results.

I was just going to order a replacement board, but I am concerned if the CPU is still good.  Its an Intel quadcore.

Does anyone have an LGA 775 socket PC they can try to put my CPU in to see if it is still functioning?   All my other PCs are AMD CPUs.  Just my luck that the one Intel box I have goes bad.

Thanks.
Jeff

I can spend $1200 on a good rig, or $400 that plays the same stuff with a slightly lower FPS.  I'm a "value" gamer.  :-)

Besides, This computer has critical files I need (including the LVL1 map) that I'm trying to pull off.  Its a windows 7 64 bit install, so I'm not sure if the files would be encrypted.  Figure a $50 motherboard would get it all working again, with less grief.
