Hey Everyone,
I have mentioned that I am looking for some programmers for some paid work creating some custom add-ons for the R.O.V..  We're ready to start getting programmers working on some things right away.  At the moment I believe I really need someone with C# experience.  If your interested, email me and we can start working out details and getting you the information you need.   THANKS!

What kind of c# programming? What are you trying to do with it?

Hey Mikel (and everyone else reading),

We're working on adding some automated navigation to a commercial underwater R.O.V. we use for tank inspections and various other industrial uses.  I've created a public folder where I'm starting to gather the various resources, SDK's, and some basic outlines of what were trying to accomplish.  Feel free to take a look at any of it and let me know if it peeks your interest.

For those that have contacted me with interest in working on this project:

I am diving into the start of exploring the SDK (while learning some c# on the fly), and I've setup a google hangout with screenshare broadcasting.  If anyone wants to jump in and help out getting things going feel free to do so.  Actually if you have any visual studio, c++, or .net experience and want to offer some guidance, please feel free.

P.S. You don't need to have a webcam to join the hangout, there is regular text chat as well as voice only.  If you'r not already in my G+ circles and can't get into the hangout just shoot me an email or g+ message and I'll send you an invite.  You can join the hangout by clicking on my last post my google plus page found here:

Thanks everyone!

Looks very interesting! Just wondering about software...Is there a relatively inexpensive version of Visual Studio that would be sufficient for this project? Would c# Express work? And what version of .NET are you using?

Thanks,
Mikel

Hey Mikel,
Visual C# Express should be all that's needed, and it's using .NET version 4.   Also... Tomorrow I'm going to be setting a dedicated PC running the ROV pilot software with Remote Access, putting the ROV in a big tube of water, and setting up a live streaming webcam looking at the ROV.  I'll be sending anyone who's interested the information for logging into the PC so they can actually try out different code and see the ROV to make sure it's working.   Just let me know if you're interested and I'll pass along the information when I get it setup.
