Subject: spare laptop drive, spare 64bit windows 7
Hi.

Got a dell laptop, trying to upgrade/flash the bios. the delll is a
inspiron n7010. the system id 0x0457/ bios version A04.

Can't seem to find the correct hearders/rpm on the dell tech support
site/system to do this with yum/linux.

Dell does provide (of course) the straight exe to run from a windows 7
(x64) system. Nope, I don't have the original disks with the system
that had/have the windows 7 OS.. and yeah, trying to get that from
dell, is a pain!!

If anyone has a spare lapdrive that I can install the windows 7 on,
and boot from, I can then download the bios exe.. flash the bios and
keep rolling..

Thanks

-bruce

I have two 2.5 inch drives I can bring in on Tues.  Not sure if they still
work, but I think they do.

Hi Jeff.

Not as of yet! No one has replied regarding the windows 7, and my
laptop has a fan issue that I'm trying to work through with dell to
get it replaced.

OIh, btw, if anyone has experience with replacing a fan/heatsink, for
a dell inspiron n7010 17", I'll bring pizza!

Thanks
