I have a garage door opener that I just replaced. But this was just
an upgrade so this garage door opener is working just fine. It is a
1/3 horsepower chain drive. Everything is included except the sensor
eyes (I reused those). These are always handy for automation
projects.

So if someone could use it please let me know. Otherwise it goes to
craigslist. Free if you pick it up. Sorry but I'm not going to be
near LVL1 anytime soon so if you want it delivered I'm going to say
$20.

Thanks,

Kevin

I have a project for the space that that would be perfect for.  I will see if I can get it picked up, if not I'll be happy to pay you the $20 for bringing it up to the space.

Might be cool to use it to make a dumbwaiter between the 3 floors at the space.  With a counterweight it wouldn't take much HP at all.

I think I also have a spare motor with sprocket, no controller or remote though.  Buddy gave it to me after lightning fried the RF receiver.

Sounds good. Just let me know. Drop me a direct email to coordinate a
bit faster since I only get a daily digest on the group.

If you build a dumbwaiter, be sure NOT to tell the local department of
lying, cheating and stealing. Okay, their official name is
"Inspections Permits and Licenses".

Had an experience some years ago with a restaurant spread across two
floors. Turns out that a dumbwaiter falls under the official regs for
an elevator. Never mind that people don't ride in it. All manner of
approved-design and approved-installer issues came up with no end of
headaches for the restaurant's management. About the time they decided
that the stairs are better, they closed forever. Mostly for other
reasons, I suspect.

And maybe I'm just borrowing trouble. Just the same, that project
could invite unwelcome scrutiny if word got out.

offtopic...   Sadly, not surprising.  Saw a show on gold mining where they shut the mine down because the 2 old guys that had been mining for 30 years hadn't been "trained".  Goverment agencies do more to shut down businesses than any other factor on earth (IMO).   They serve no purpose other than occupying space and converting oxygen to CO2.

Topic related...   Does anyone know where to get chains that fit these garage door openers without buying a whole 'nuther opener system?  I'd like to use the one I have for a small project but don't know where to buy chain that fits the sprocket.

Jeff,
There are chains  galore at the space, I have been  getting for a different project, but there is plenty to spare, I'm sure you can find the size you need. There in the big room.

Cool, I'll check it out next time I'm there.

Frankly I sort of agree Jeff, that most local and national governments are a waste of resources, they need to be globally centralized, not eliminated.

Thanks,
Dan
