New hackathon idea! Accepting input before the rules are finalized!
This hackathon is 90% Joe's idea: 24 hours of hacking together food
launching systems. The goal: fling the tastiest food the furthest
distance with the most style. This isn't a boneyard hackathon, so you have
a $150 budget to buy anything you'd like before the event, but you have to
assemble it all during the hackathon. You can also use anything from the
boneyard. We'll be doing this sometime in October.
You'll be judged (and judging eachother) in the following categories:
- Taste
- Distance
- Ingenuity
- Appearance of food
You can fling any food you want, in any manner you can devise. I expect
plenty of taco cannons, french fry guns, and ice cream trebuchets.
LN2 Ice cream cannon. Ice cream mix drops into liquid nitrogen, then heat
source vaporizes LN2, sending ice cream flying. Just because I like my ice
cream makers deadly.

I'm in! I'd like to make an Irish Car Bomb maker. Basically it'd be a device that recognizes a qr code on a bar glass full of Guinness, tracks it, then shoots a shot of baileys at the glass.
