Transart Open House New York February 28, 2009

Transart Institute will hold an Open House Event during it's annual
winter residency in New York. Prospective applicants are invited to
attend a guest artist lecture, a question and answer period, and the
Transart Institute exhibition and reception on Saturday, February 28
from 5:00 - 8:00 at the Sideshow Gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn,
New York. This is a unique opportunity to become familiar with the
program, get in contact with current students, get to know faculty and
directors and ask all the questions that don't fit into email.

Guest artist this year is Mary Flanagan who will talk about her recent
projects. Mary is an artist who works with prevalent themes in
emerging technology to create systems that rethink everyday

Transart Institute is a student-centered, self-directed MFA program,
uniquely located in Europe offering an accredited two year low-
residency course for working artists. The program consists of three
intensive summer residencies with lectures, workshops, critiques,
seminars, performances and exhibitions in Europe and two shorter,
optional winter residencies in New York. In the four semesters between
residencies, students create their own course of study realizing
individual art and research projects with the support of faculty and
self-chosen artist mentors wherever they work and live.

New deadlines for applications: Advanced admissions deadline and
deadline for scholarships is MARCH 1, 2008, general deadline is May
1st with rolling admissions if space permits until June 1, 2009 with
five spaces reserved for European applicants. An application form is
