I'll see if I can hack something together fast, but I won't be
disappointed if somebody beats me with something better.

Fascinating. If I understand this right, the alternate text "control
interface" described in Parker's man page doesn't exist in openbsd.

At least in the US, Parker could get a "dba" and use that in a
copyright statement. I'm not sure what it takes to put something in
the public domain today; perhaps Parker is thinking of an older state
of copyright law where things that did not have explicit copyright
statements were presumed to be "free" and in the public domain.
Nowadays, it's absolutely correct that if there's no statement, the
author retains a copyright and full rights, and distributing such
without explicit legal permission from the author would be quite
risky.
