State-Changed-When: Fri Jan 9 14:30:16 UTC 2009
State-Changed-Why:
Awaiting maintainers feedback (via the GNATS Auto Assign Tool)
>Description:
Update does two things:
* Reverts PR ports/128082
* Assigns maintainership to my coworker (who maintains this port in our company)
Rational:
ports/128082 should never have been commited:
* The problem was only reported on a single machine (could be a hardware bug)
* The problem was only reported against a prerelease version of FreeBSD
* We are using this port in the manner described in that PR on over 20 machines for over 2 years with no problems.
Overall, I'm a little disapointed in the handling of that PR, as additional feedback was never requested, and the original PR could have dozens of causes unrelated to the port itself.
However, in the event of a maintainer timeout, it's understandable that something had to be done.
As a result, I'm fixing both issues: We can verify that the port _does_ work, and we're willing to take over and actively maintain the port.

The latest version of megarc provided by LSI Logic is dated: 18-APR-05.
This causes crashs on 7.x, that's why it is broken at the moment.
I cannot solve the Problem, I guess this is on LSI Logic.
But I'll re-enable the port for releases below 7.
Expect the update within the next days.
So long...
