The MSG_PEEK flag was added to the send(2) manual page by Garrett
Wollman in rev. 1.2, so I think he ought to be the one to decide whether
the flag should be removed - albeit it might be just a tad difficult
to recall the original reasoning back from 1995 :)
Garrett, the way I see it, the MSG_PEEK flag was either:
- added because it was related to T/TCP, and thus ought to have been
removed from the send(2) manual page by Joel Dahl's rev. 1.33;
- added because it was in the list of flags copied over from
the <sys/socket.h> file, and thus ought to be removed, since it is
not really relevant to the send(2) syscall :)
- added for some other reasons that I cannot think of right now, but that
still make it necessary for that flag to be in the send(2) manual page :)

You are of course correct, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
I've deleted all the references to the 6bone in both doc/ and www/,
and also updated the 3ffe:* addresses to use the prefix define for
documentation in RFC 3849. However I did not go through all the docs
looking for other possible IPv6 addresses that might need to be
converted.
Cutting out the 6bone stuff in 29.10.3 shortened the section
considerably, but most of the stuff that was cut was just a
description of how to do by hand what the text in 29.10.5 describes
how to automate with rc.conf, so it seems like a good trade. If
someone wants to go back in and restore 29.10.3 with a real example, I
won't object.

I do an update every 4 weeks. The last one was sometime around last
weekend, IIRC, so gmultipath is probably there now.

Hi,
Being new to FreeBSD, I started following the handbook. I found it to be
a very informative document and a great introduction to the OS. I do
however have a small suggestion regarding section 4.4, Using the
Packages System (URL below).

As this documentation is likely to be ready by new users, it may be
useful to point out that in csh (being the default shell for root) one
must either run "rehash" or log out and back in before the commands
related to the package are available.
