In 4 weeks a totally awesome, super fun event that could potentially raise
a lot of money for John Muir will be happening in Golden Gate Park and it
would be awesome if you were a part of it!

What is this amazing event you may be wondering? RUN for RECESS of
course! Run for Recess is a family fun fundraiser for individual Playworks
schools in San Francisco as well as the Playworks organization.
Individuals and families can register for the 5K or 1 Mile Fun Run in
Golden Gate Park. Your registration fee includes a t-shirt, food, games
and prizes. There will also be a kid zone staffed by fun, capable
Playworks coaches so the kiddos can be entertained while their parents
run.

Event Details
WHEN: Sunday, April 21, 2013
WHERE: Stow Lake, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA Registration/Check
in: Pioneer Log Cabin Picnic Area (Stow Lake Drive, Golden Gate Park)

Course Options
1 Mile Fun Run - $15
5K Stow Lake Run/Walk - $25
Team Registration - $60 (includes two 5k Runners and two 1 mile Fun
Runners)

I will put registration forms in all of your boxes and have more available
in the office if needed. Leticia has graciously agreed to have the Run
for Recess collection envelop in her office to collect money and
registration forms.

100% of registrations paid with cash or check by April 19th will go
directly to John Muir. Please make checks payable to John Muir Elementary
School. All online registration will go to the SF Playworks Fund, NOT
John Muir.

I know many of us are not runners but that doesn't mean you have to skip
out on the event entirely. Here a a few ways you can contribute to the
event if you don't want to run:

1.) Volunteer the day of! We'll need help with registration, course
marking, clean-up and many other jobs. Please let me know if you're
interested.

2.) Sponsor a runner or whole family! I know the majority of our families
won't be able to afford registration costs but it would be cool if they
could still participate. Consider making it happen by sponsoring!

I know some of you have participated in Run for Recess in the past and I
hope you will consider participating again this year. Please get your
friends, partners, neighbors involved so we can raise mo' money for Muir!
