Another Burglary

My neighbor across the street was robbed a few nights ago.  700 block of Page again.

Thieves jimmied open the metal gate somehow, used a credit card to open his front door.  Around 5AM while he was sleeping.  Apparently took the usual small stuff.

 

Had he set his dead bolt, they couldn’t have gotten in his front door, and they might have gone into the other flat where the owner has 3 Rottweilers.  That would have been a nice surprise for a burglar!

 

Dead bolts!  Use ‘em!

I have to think that this is the same guy that robbed me. He broke our front door doorhandle with a plumber's pliers or similar, and then "somehow" got into my apartment. It's been unclear if my daughter forgot to lock the deadbolt and he slipped the lock, or if he got ahold of a key. I only think that because I had a copy made the week before at the corner store at Divis and Page.

I just wonder, did the robber move anything? One of the things that struck me about how seasoned this guy is was the fact that even though he emptied my purse and my daughter's jewelry box, he didn't move anything. In fact it took me a hour or so to discover that my wallet was gone, along with my palm pilot and some jewelry that was in my purse.

So, maybe your neighbor wants to contact Detective Kelly at Burglary Division. That was the cop who couldn't find evidence of a serial robber in this neighborhood. Maybe it will make some kind of a difference if they figure out that there's one guy doing this. Maybe I'll get a pony for Christmas, too.

I believe this is this same burlary that I mentioned before, it did
happen in the morning, not evening, and yes the events as described
below are the same so I don't think there was another burglary I think
this is the same one ....
