Hey everyone!

If I have forgotten someone on this e-mail that I should have included, please forward this to them. I don't have a comprehensive list to go off of yet. If anyone does, could you please pass it along to me?

Here is a quick bit of what we will be discussing tomorrow. 10:30am sharp! Cafe International.

KooZoo Public Camera system for Lower Haight Safety. Essentially blanketing the public spaces of the Lower Haight with wifi cameras to catch crime and vandalism.

Air BnB, might have a little announcement about making our neighborhood even more rad.

Feedback, a new app who will have five minutes to pitch LOHAMNA about their service, and if any of the merchants would be interested.

Carrotmob continued discussion. Deciding what we'd want to raise funds for as a neighborhood.

Art Walk, the poster is attached. Everything needs to be ready by Wednesday to send to print. Pierre has been going around collecting cash and getting info, but he hasn't passed it along to me yet.

If anyone else has something they'd like to add to the agenda, please feel free to.

Motion: board will identify 20 places for cameras, will map out a plan, will let merchants and neighbors know this is happening on haighteration and fb, and will make a decision to deploy after reviewing feedback. Fdbk mentioned his service might work well here. Motion passed unanimously.

3. Art Walk Saturday March 2nd. 6 pm. Pierre has collected $340 from 17 merchants. Deadline for getting on poster: we'd the 13th of Feb. Lexie and Lisa to ask the 400, Devon to ask 5,6, and 700 blocks

Adding 4 curb cuts and 12 cars to Page street, designated for bikes. loHaMNA working with neighbors. Concerned about added congestion, sidewalks being crisscrossed by cars. Elizabeth said her building can attest to how it isn't good.

Also, Walgreens bought Bioscrip, and plans to put up Walgreens sign, but have same services that Bioscrip did. • Until the product is more fully developed there will be limited short term access to recorded content for outlier event (theft, vandalism, etc)
    • "Forever Hook Up" - Before any costs are implemented/passed on to the Lower Haight community organizations, Koozoo will give as much notice as possible, to cover and reflect actual costs of delivering Koozoo service for the Lower Haight Merchants.
    • When charges are eventually implemented, Koozoo will give the Lower Haight Merchant association $500 to spend on any premium services with the primary intent of exploring which elements are most interesting and relevant for the merchants.

What, is this 2007 again? The cameras didn't work back then when the city put them up (and eventually turned them off). They didn't stop any crime nor prevent any vandalism nor shootings. You can see the relics up on the poles @ Haight & Webster, and the emails to this group in the archive. How are old iPhones going to do any better?

In a few short weeks, Ricky Bobby has done a better job of making the corner of Haight & Webster alive and bustling than cameras ever could.

I'm with Greg.  More eyes-on-the-street, and life, and hustle and bustle.  That's what we need.  Using Koozoo for busting perps just smacks of big-brother and privacy invasion.  I know I'll be forwarding this email to the EFF to hear what they think.

I can confirm that the cameras are in operation, and they help catch violators. I called in gunshots about a year ago and because of the video, the police were able to catch and charge the guy.

I'm all for giving KooZoo a chance.

The city designed their cameras to fail, but the ones I put up were used to catch a mugger within a few months.

How does Koozoo work?  Can I hook up my linux box to their system?

The cameras should be turned back on if they've been turned off.
Greg, you dont realize how fast stuff happens. By the time someone
gets through to police, its about a 5 minute wait, with police maybe
showing up 10 minutes later at the soonest.
Perps long gone....and the ones around here are ORGANIZED.

But when the cameras were on, they could *only* be looked at to confirm who may have already been caught! They could not be used to look for things. It was so odd. It was the politicians trying to look like they were helping when they really weren't. The cameras there solved zero crimes.

Hello All,

In regard to 690 Page, Supervisor Breed is not restricted from action due to the radius restriction from her home per the City Attorney's review.
Please use me as your lead from her office and keep me posted on any actionable items that arise.

Best,
