Unite the Lower Haight in one district! We need your help.

Hello, Lower Haight Merchants + Neighbors!

 

Once every 10 years after the census comes out we change the boundaries of our districts. For the last 10 years, Lower Haight has been split between District 8 and District 5, with most of us in District 5.

 

The Lower Haight Merchant + Neighbor Association is proposing keeping us together and in District 5. We have put forth a proposal that shifts the boundaries slightly south to Waller through the proposed development at 55 Laguna, then encompasses the end of our commercial area, moving south to Hermann at Buchanan to Duboce, and then jogs back to Waller at Duboce Park (see attached map).

 

We need people to come out to support Uniting the Lower Haight in one district.

 

I’ve highlighted two meetings (focusing on D8 and D5 in specific)  where we need support on behalf of merchants and neighbors of putting the Lower Haight back together again in one district.

 

Please let me know if you can come to these meetings. During the meeting you have a chance to stand up and advocate for our borders in front of the redistricting task force, a group of citizens in charge of this process. They listen, but they have to hear from us to consider our case.
