Hospitality and Entertainment Taxing Zone – Update:

Our board issued the following statement on Monday: VCPORA is open to
the concept of measures for improved infrastructure; however, we
oppose any new bureaucratic entity and open-ended taxing authority.
VCPORA further supports the involvement of French Quarter
representatives in any decision making that affects the Vieux Carré.

And as you’ve no doubt read, this is still a developing issue. At this
point, though, there isn’t a final draft, so we’re continuing to move
forward until we’ve seen a plan that we can support.

What we do know is that this bill will be coming up at the legislature
one day next week. We are mobilizing to go to Baton Rouge - CAN YOU
