Hi everybody

How much would a pristine copy of the Lotus Elite Workshop manual go
for? (This is for the climax-engined / monocoque car, not the 70s
version)

Thanks

 Hi everybody

What makes a Lotus Eleven eligible for races such as LeMans, Mille
Miglia, and others races where not everybody that owns an Eleven and
wants to participate is allowed to do so?
Specifically I am wondering if the car needs competition history in
that specific race, ie if only those Elevens (specific chssis #s)

About ten years ago there was an Eleven S-2 for sale in the Atlanta,
Georgia area claiming the number # 525. That car seemed to be for sale
for several years and some of us were asking each other about it. Can
anyone suggest where this car is today?

Here is a video from the SVRA Group 4 race at Watkins Glen last
weekend. There were 3 Elevens in the field. The others were Jim Hamlin
and Jeff Snook. Unfortunately Jeff's car broke a tranny. You can see
him on the side of the track.

Group 4 is the 1950s group and includes everything from 1100cc sports

I am having a small issue. In hard right or left turns, my oil
pressure (at the gauge) drops below 10psi. Normally it runs about
70psi. As far as I have noticed, there is no issue under braking or
acceleration.

This is due to the oil sloshing left or right in the pan away from the
pickup. The classic way to fix this is to build an oil baffle into the

There was an 1100cc Series I Eleven in the Bonhams auction catalog at
Monterey. I read the catalog description and looked it over. While
there is no doubt that this car has been racing a long time, it is the
definition of ridden hard and put away wet. There are several issues
concerning originality/provenance as well. Maybe some changes were

A 'John Heseltine' appears to be connected with my early S2 Lotus
Seven. An online search connects him indirectly to USA dealer Sy
Kaback, through Robin Read... Lotus records indicate my Seven sold to
Kaback, and the earliest owner I have spoken to suggests that John
Heseltine was the second owner of the car when it went for sale again
