Subject: John Heseltine?
A 'John Heseltine' appears to be connected with my early S2 Lotus
Seven. An online search connects him indirectly to USA dealer Sy
Kaback, through Robin Read... Lotus records indicate my Seven sold to
Kaback, and the earliest owner I have spoken to suggests that  John
Heseltine was the second owner of the car when it went for sale again
in 1973.

Can anyone share contact information for John Heseltine or Robin Read?

Thank you,
John Donohoe
7/B1135

John

In case you are still looking for Robin Read he is due to speak at
Club Lotus Avon on October 6th 2009.

Webiste is http://www.ferraritestarossa.net/clublotus/

If you can't get over for the meeting (!) I am sure that Rob Ford who
runs the group will be able to put you in touch with Robin who, as you
no doubt know, worked as Sales Manager at Lotus from late 1959 till
1962.  His book "Colin Chapman's Lotus" (ISBN 8 85429 703 0) is very
good.

Best wishes
Charles

Thank you Charles,

No, probably won't make the meeting, and yes, I know Mr Read's book
very well. Have written him several times to no avail. Armed now with
an email address thanks to JWW, however, perhaps he'll find the time
to reply!

I think he might find it interesting that I did meet Sy Kaback in
person some years ago, the outcome of which appears on my web site. He
might further find interesting the fact that I've tracked the history
of my particular Lotus Seven 7/B1135 back through all of its owners,
having recently made contact with UK-based photographer John
Heseltine, who was the second, if brief owner.

I am missing only a definitive link from Kaback (per JWW's Lotus build
card) to Ray Walle (Mazda dealer, 24 hrs of Daytona racer, etc).

Thank you again.

John Donohoe

PS I had occasion to photograph the interesting remains of a Lotus
Eleven at a recent gathering -- Currently Mike Imerman's car,
recently  pulled out for public view... I believe he has been in touch
with you about it. If you would like further photos, I have many!
