Late in 2006 I was switched off Haldol to Ziprasidone. I began to take
an interest in life again. I purchased Space Empires V and played it
for a while, but found that I was learning nothing new and lost
interest. While playing the game I began the laborious process of
regenerating my memories. On April 17th I became bold enough to start
posting again on Google groups as cla...@comcast.net.. I regenerated
my memories enough this week (July 25th) to start thinking about my
life up to this point. Musing was also prompted by a complaint from
someone called "Default User" (regarding my "Merry Christmas" post
July 23rd on rec.arts.sf.written) that I was telling a boring life
story rather than posting interesting things. I have just one thing to
say to that person. For being such a JERK, "Baby baby baby you ain't
seen nothin' yet. I'm gonna show you something that you ain't NEVER
gonna forget!!" So rather than posting cryptographic algorithms and
other useful things (such as I had intended at the start of the week)
I am going to spend at LEAST the next three MONTHS writing my
autobiography and posting it on my Google group. I am on STRIKE until
I get PAID for the WORK which I have already DONE.

A note regarding "Invitation to bash me"on rec.arts.sf.written. "Bash
me" is an acronym for "bamboozle all $hit heads, maximizing effects".
I will let you deduce for yourself what the remainder of the title
means...

YOU CAN GIVE OFF A SHRIEK OF FRUSTRATION AND STOP READING NOW

On Nov 11,1997 - (Veteran's Day) in the early morning hours (outside
in a vacant lot), I took off my clothes, performed a ritual, and blew
my mind. I took that extreme measure due to the situation which I
faced at the time. Self destructing was preferable to being
interrogated with memories intact. I expected such because already my
sister had called the police a few times to try to get me hauled away
to the crazy ward. I had offended powerful people during the previous
two weeks by my postings as tc5...@aol.com. I was suffering from sleep
deprivation psychosis as a consequence, and I expected no mercy to be
given. Enough said about that, except to remark that I was
hospitalized and declared insane. By court order I had to get
injections of prescribed anti-psychotics. The drug chosen by the
doctors at the VA was Haldol until late 2000.

In late 2000 I was switched off Haldol to Risperidone and began to
take a renewed interest in life. I started playing a game called
"Space Empires IV". Eventually I even decided to abandon my hermit
lifestyle. I began to interact with strangers (who were strategy
gaming enthusiasts) by joining the forum at Shrapnelgames.com. I was
even thinking about starting to develop software again, having
laboriously regenerated my memories over a period of six months. I
thought of the forum as a private little corner of paradise for
gamers. I was discussing things freely, and on Aug 3,2001 I called
Bill Gates a robber baron. Much to my surprise and terror, a person
labeled "Arcadenut" posted a flaming response within hours of my post.
I was so terrified that I could not sleep. I immediately began a
maximum effort con job to appear to be hopelessly insane and thus
"mostly harmless". After my next visit to the VA, I stopped taking the
Risperidone so that it would not mitigate the effects of sleep
deprivation psychosis, which were soon rather obvious to all.
Eventually in Oct 2001, my sister got the VA to start injecting me
with Haldol again. On Nov 8, 2001 I had a hearing in probate court at
which it was declared that I was quite insane, and obligated to
continue mandatory outpatient treatment. As a consequence of that
decision, I once again blew my mind and became a sullen vegetable.

See the post at top for the discussion of 2006 to present. I have
omitted quite a bit which can be deduced from my postings from May
10th to July 14th. On July 19th when I took the prescribed drugs, I
became extremely ill. On July 20th I had an emergency meeting at the
VA with my doctor regarding the situation. I was informed that because
I had decided to stop taking anything but Ziprasidone, that I was in
non-compliance with the court ordered mandatory outpatient treatment.
Since my failure to follow doctor's orders was an indication of self
destructive tendencies, I could expect to be hospitalized again until
I complied. I have an appointment with him on July 27th early in the
morning, at which I expect that he will have me sent to the crazy ward
yet again. This post may be the last from me for quite a while,
because I will NOT surrender to the dope pushers again. Those drugs
are NOT necessary to my survival, and even if they were, I suspect
that the pills in the bottles are probably NOT what is specified on
the labels. As an example Aspirin is a white tablet with an acidic
flavor which easily crumbles. It is NOT a hard pinkish/orange tablet
labeled s2 with a very foul taste which often gets stuck in my throat
when my body refuses to swallow it. The drugs are supposedly for high
blood pressure, high cholesterol, and heart preventative maintenance.
In the case of the Aspirin and the fish oil, they are not prescription
drugs at all. I would prefer to buy those myself rather than take what
the VA sends. I do not know about the cholesterol, but I bought a
blood pressure kit last week for $40. According to it, my blood
pressure has not exceeded 140/90 so far, which does NOT justify the
extreme measures drugs being prescribed. On July 25th I began
therapy to reduce my weight, which is about 230 pounds. I walked a
tenth of a mile in eight minutes until I began to sweat. Since I have
a dislike of sweating, I stopped at that point. In regard to weight
let me say that in 1986 while working at Datapoint, my weight exceeded
245 pounds. I had a heavy fat diet with about a half pound per day of
meat. I survived over 20 more years after many such years of "abusing"
my body. I expect to live another 35-50 years, if the ****head doctors
do not push drugs on me and prescribe me into an early grave as they
did Elvis and many lesser known victims. My mother lived to 79, my
father is still kicking at 85, and my grandmother on my father's side
lived into her 90s. Family history says that I come of robust stock.
On July 20th I began to have a severe pain from my right side around
my liver. I finally realized on July 23rd what might be causing it. I
began drinking 10-15 cans per day of soft drinks in early July rather
than none at all. I stopped drinking soft drinks on the 23rd. I began
to have a diminished level of pain within hours. Today July 26th as I
type this my side barely hurts at all.

After writing several pages of notes regarding my life's activities,
it occurred to me that I could use Wikipedia for a more systematic way
of organizing things. Below is a set of bookmarks resulting from a
brief excursion into Wikipedia. So then it occurred to me that I was
really being sloppy and starting the story in mid-stream rather than
where it should begin, infancy.

Part 1 - Section 1 - Early infancy and childhood - learning to think
and understand words

I am tempted to make up a story about being self aware and thinking
clearly when I was very very young. However, I will resist the
temptation. My very first coherent memory is of being in my high
chair, and having foul tasting food shoved with a spoon into my mouth
while a sound was coming in my ears. The sound was "EAT" and it was my
very first word, obtained before even such words as "I" and "you". EAT
was a sound associated somehow with having an object loaded with food
shoved into my mouth (for none of which did I even have a concept
yet). I lacked a word for swallow, and the soft mess did not require
chewing. Sometimes I breathed as I swallowed and choked on the food,
but like a hungry trooper I kept on EATing anyway, provided that it
tasted good. When it did NOT taste good, I performed an act for which
I lacked words but which often resulted in such sounds as "STOP
SPITTING" or "DO NOT SPIT THAT OUT", and variations. So those sounds
including "SPIT" were somehow associated with the act of SPITting (for
which I lacked a word) , but they were all strung together and VERY
confusing. My father should be asked at what point I began to speak,
because I really do not know. I have never had a solid time sense, and
I often find it difficult to recall dates except on the utmost
important occasions. But it is in any case certainly true that before
an infant can understand words, the infant must have coherent thought
processes sufficient to recognize that sounds are associated with
communicating, for which the infant lacks a concept. The very first
communication which an infant performs is crying, which brings
comforting results or not depending upon parental temper. The first
words which an infant utters might be mama and daddy, but the infant
does not know what they mean except that they are often heard when the
big people are around taking care of the infant. A quiet parent is a
stupid parent. Talk to your infant with single words as short as
possible, and which are relevant to the activity in process. As I said
above, that is how I learned a VERY important word - EAT.......

Recognition of other words and word combinations followed rapidly such
as "EAT YOUR x, EAT THIS x, NO!!!, x BAD x, DO NOT x, I x, YOU x, I
SAID x, I TOLD YOU x, DRINK YOUR x, DRINK THIS x, STOP x!!!, STOP
THAT!!!, STOP YOUR x, STOP CRYING, BE QUIET, SHUT UP, SIT DOWN, BE
STILL, KEEP STILL, HOLD STILL, HOLD YOUR x, HOLD THAT x, DROP THAT x,
PUT THAT DOWN!!!, CHEW YOUR x, SWALLOW YOUR x". The list goes on and
on and even contains an occasional "I LOVE YOU, GOOD BABY and GOOD
BOY". One thing was eventually clear, which was that the words
represented by the sounds had a context, though the concept of context
had not yet developed. The word order kept changing, and the word
combinations varied, but a frequency analysis when taken in
association with dominant concurrent activities revealed some implied
meanings. So do NOT confuse your infant early on with sloppy language.
Clearly enunciate words, resisting the stupid practice of "baby talk".
Keep using the same few words over and over, until it becomes obvious
that the infant has mastered their meanings. Two words is a big
sentence for an infant. Three words is a huge struggle. Four plus
words is nearly impossible until several hundred words and the concept
of context have been learned. In other words, while "STOP SPITTING" is
okay, "DO NOT SPIT THAT OUT" is VERY confusing and very BAD.....

I do not remember when I first learned to crawl or walk. However I DO
remember being outside and noticing dirt, the sun, shadows, and
thunder at an early age. Dirt was interesting because it came loose
from the ground onto my skin and could be picked up, but it usually
tasted bad. The sun was hot and bright and cast shadows, which were
strange indeed. My shadow followed me, and other people's shadows
followed them. However the shadow behind the house did not move except
to grow shorter as noontime approached, then to grow longer on the
other side of the house. Thunder was loud and scary, and it often came
with flashes of light, wind, and sometimes rain. I had heard it before
from indoors, but with all the talking and yelling which were
constantly going on around me, I did not know that it was associated
with weather until I heard it outside. With trips outside new word
sequences emerged such as "DON'T PLAY IN THE DIRT, DIRTY BOY, YOU ARE
TOO DIRTY x, WIPE THE DIRT OFF x, DON'T EAT DIRT" etc. Obviously DIRT
was important!

I soon realized that more than one thing could have the same meaning.
For example I discovered the word groups "NO!!!, STOP!!!", "DO NOT,
DON'T", "YOU CAN'T, YOU CAN NOT, YOU MUST NOT", "STOP IT, STOP THAT",
"COME HERE, COME ON", "GET UP, STAND UP", "BE QUIET, SHUT UP", "BE
STILL, HOLD STILL", "BE GOOD, BEHAVE", "TAKE THIS, HOLD THIS", "DROP
THAT, PUT THAT DOWN", "GET THAT x, PICK THAT UP, PICK UP THAT x"....
The list runs into hundreds of items during early very childhood
before I learned the alphabet and reading....

I remember the first time that I realized that a word could mean more
than one thing. We were still living in Texas, so it was fairly early
in my life, perhaps at three or four. I was looking at a neighbor's
sea shell collection, and I was told that some of the shells were
"sand dollars". Well I knew what a "dollar" was already, not being
stupid and considering how often the word was used in parental
conversations. It was "money" like a coin (such as penny, nickel,
dime, and quarter) except that it was made of paper and worth MUCH
more. When my parents exchanged "dollars" there was often hugging and
kissing involved with the words "I love you", so it had something to
do with love. Like a coin, a dollar could buy ice cream from the truck
and was always accompanied by a lot of coins as "change". So it had
something to do with EATing good things too. So being of a larcenous
bent already, I coveted those "sand dollars", which were just lying
there free for the taking. When I asked my sister why they were not
made of paper like other dollars, I was told that they were not really
money at all. I immediately lost interest in sea shells, and I never
collected them the way other children did.

While I do not recall much from before I learned to speak, I recall
the understanding that words were associated with body parts at a
point quite early in the learning process. "Mouth" had something to do
with EATing. "Hand" had something to do with picking up, dropping, and
carrying things. "Wipe your feet" and "wash your hands" were
associated with DIRT.

At that point I became too sleepy to type, so I went to bed. During
the night I had dreams of the struggle in infancy to communicate. When
I got up this morning, I reviewed what I had written. Once again I
realize that (as I noted in the early thread "I stand up tall and
roar...."), I am probably failing to effectively communicate. So I
started using Wikipedia to look up and print articles beginning with
near the top titled "Mental function". I spooled through Wikipedia,
following every ambiguous blue link and printing out articles until my
printer ran out of ink, a couple thousand pages or so. Given below is
a list of article titles, sorted alphabetically by article title
rather than by search tree. I intend to read them all before
continuing my autobiography. I will post the titles of other articles
tomorrow after getting more paper and ink cartridges tonight, provided
that I am not locked up in the crazy ward. Even at my current reading
speed of 800+ words per minute, digesting them could take weeks. I
think that I will be able to communicate more effectively as a
consequence. I discovered by scanning articles as they printed out
that my regenerated memory is thoroughly flawed.

My childhood understanding of thought processes and communication was
a hodgepodge of ad-hoc rules, implications, inferences, deductions,
and often erroneous conclusions. I recall quite distinctly the
humiliation which I felt the first time in early childhood that I
incorrectly used a profane word, and was laughed at by other children.
I clearly recall the frustration and humiliation which I felt when my
first grade teacher (Mrs. Watkins) sent me to stand in the hallway for
being an "uppity smart Alec" due to answering questions too often and
without having permission to speak. After the second grade ended, I
was psychologically evaluated and selected to participate in a new
program for "academically talented" children. I recall the pleasure
which I felt when my third grade teacher (Mrs. Dowd) began to
systematically teach the rules of English language usage. Up until
that point teachers had focused on spelling (words which I thoroughly
understood), and reading the idiotic "Dick, Jane, and Sally" texts.
Nobody had ever presented me with formal RULES. I had incorrectly
drawn the conclusion that communication was a semi-random event based
upon commonly misinterpreted words and strung together phrases to form
sentences. Mrs. Dowd actually revealed such mysteries as the parts of
speech and sentence composition. Later teachers revealed sentence
structural diagramming, rules of logical analysis, and rules of
composition and debate. When I left the AT program in the seventh
grade due to a humiliating rebuke (resulting from an effort to sell
candy in the lunchroom at an enormous profit), I discovered that
"normal" students never learned the things which I had been taught for
over four years. After an unpleasant period of adjustment, I learned
to "dumb down" my communications to the nearly incoherent ramblings of
"normal" people. After that I began to have good grades again. I did
quite well in high school, becoming third ranked in my class of
several hundred at the time that I dropped out to join the USAF.

Examining the list above, it seems to be a nearly random strike on the
database. For example I did not print out "lie/lying/liar' ," deceive/
deceiving/deception", "prevaricate/prevarication", "obfuscate/
obfuscation", "confuse/confusing/confusion", "puzzle/puzzling",
"bedazzle/dazzling", "obscure/obscuring", "con/conned", "scam/
scamming", "hoax/hoaxed", "sting", "bamboozle" or any other
"intuitively obvious" words. So I am going to buy a half dozen ink
cartridges and several cases of paper. Then I will start printing out
EVERYTHING related to "Mental function", which could take a couple of
weeks. I prefer paper because I get eye fatigue reading the screen. On
paper copies, I can also circle things for further study and annotate
articles...

Upon consideration of the boring task of a couple years before me (and
only if I receive massive compensation), I will post further
algorithms before completing my study of "Mental function". Then I
will start writing a series of articles which give the essential
concepts of the massive bolus of data which I will have digested. I
will do book reviews of scholarly texts on the subject, focusing in
particular upon texts relevant for the teaching of teachers. As the
saying goes, "those who can - do, those who can't - teach, and those
who can't teach - teach teachers". It appears that those whose
intellectual grasp exceeds the comprehension of editors and peers have
abandoned the (commercial and academic) regular outlets for expression
in favor of volunteer "work" on Wikipedia....

If life is really a massive multiplayer online gaming experience for
higher dimensional beings which is enacted upon the bedrock of this
"universe", then my score has really shot up as of Monday July 23rd,
now hasn't it ? The only game in life worth playing is the "master"
game as discussed on thread "I poke a stick into an enormous wasp
nest". As with the 4x strategy games (which I have played for over
20,000 hours), the objective is not so much any particular absolute
score, but rather the achievement of an exponential or better growth
rate for score. So if I frighten you and make you feel like mental
insects compared to Gargantua (which all but a few of you really are),
then just ignore me and keep on "playing with your own ding-a-ling" as
Chuck's song says. I want the following things for myself at this
time :

1) Interesting work : self guided and adaptive to customer demand if I
can stir up clients....
2) Reasonable compensation : is utterly unsatisfactory at this time,
needs major improvement...
3) Comfortable office : an unsatisfactory situation, but as I
demonstrated, I can cope.....
4) No hassle : the hacking seems to have stopped, but the doctors are
a persistent problem....
5) Lasting legacy, offspring : possible if I can find a woman who can
stand my behavior....
6) Communication with peers : Where ARE they? Surely I am not unique,
but nobody calls....
7) Input data - Wikipedia seems to be adequate for now. Technical
subjects can come later...
8) Entertainment - YouTube had problems for my account, but seems to
be fixed now....
9) Amusement : I LOVE to poke sticks into wasp nests and run away like
the wind.....
10) Exponential score rise : what can I do for an encore ? Wait and
see....

P.S. - Since I posted on the 23rd, I have been taking an additional
drug called Oxcarbazepine (ordered by the VA last week) whose primary
side effect is crippling of the ability for abstract reasoning. As
expected I feel quite stupid compared to early on the 23rd. However I
really do not care because what I have been doing this week does not
require abstract reasoning at all. It is data processing rather than
problem solving, which is a low demand activity....

back in late July. When I began the effort, I thought that Wikipedia
would be a deep structure of references proceeding from general topics
to highly specialized discussions. I was quite wrong. The links are
found quite early for practically everything. I would not post it at
all except that it serves as an illustration of a misconceived notion,
and took a few days to produce.

For categories : (a single digit followed by a "-" followed by three
