I will lay a few facts on the table for the enlightenment of those
reading this post.
1) Taking into account hypothetical future data miners, I am at least
as human as anyone reading this.
2) On Apr 15 I had an interesting dream. I wrote an email on that date
to L. Neil Smith in which I mentioned this fact. I am unable to recall
the details of the dream, but the gist of it was that the path to
success ran through pretending that an alien intelligence had
possessed me. I did not disclose that tidbit to him, but I did say :
3) That the dream raised an interesting question. I did not say WHAT
question, which was : what reaction would ensue ?
4) I named L. Neil Smith, Robert Heinlein, Roger Zelazny, and Leo
Frankowski as authors of successful multiple volume series involving
multiple universes and realities.
5) I asked his opinion on whether there was a market for another such
series.
6) He never responded, and may have discarded my email. However as I
understand it, internet services providers retain ALL emails in
archive for a long time. So the hypothetical government spook reading
this post can subpoena my email history to verify what I said above.
7) I recently corresponded with a person whose true identity remains a
mystery. In the course of that exchange, I suggested that he should
check out the words "Burlesque, Caricature, and Spoof".
8) This post concludes volume 1, an internet e-book titled "The alien
possession of Lonnie Courtney Clay".
9) If those who have followed my posts so far are disappointed, then I
will endeavor to create sequels in the tradition of "E. E. 'doc'
Smith" with an ever-expanding extravagant scope of operations.
10) Did you believe in Santa Clause, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter
Bunny, Superman, Zorro, the Lone Ranger, Mighty Mouse, Popeye, Tarzan,
etc too ?

I decided to really get my act rolling in the post of May 6 at 6:12 on
thread :

I gave a hint that my "I am" weirdness was an act by providing the

See the comments regarding rock stars. I played the egotistical rock
star to the hilt. "Hindsight is 20/20" LOL LOL LOL!

A person responded to these posts by saying that "it is worse if you
act like an idiot when you are not one" or words to that effect. I
invite that person to share my cultural heritage by :

1) Read the books posted on thread :
FCP HotDisk 2 1986 master list of recommended sf (revised) -
rec.arts.sf.written | Google Groups

http://groups.google.com/group/rec.arts.sf.written/browse_thread/thread/a09d5f2c41d1335d/6d5bb83d9f3e9e19#6d5bb83d9f3e9e19

I read a bunch of books in childhood before switching to science
fiction, including but not limited to fables, westerns, mysteries, and
adventures. Their influence is relatively weak compared to science
fiction. I also have read some fantasy, but I am usually turned off by
it. I am certainly not an authoritative reviewer of that genre.

2) Watch the movies posted on thread :
I salute movies and all who create them! - Lonnie Courtney Clay |
Google Groups

http://groups.google.com/group/lonnie-courtney-clay/msg/089285ead4340123?

In particular watch the movies below, which are given in alphabetical
order by title :
Barry Lyndon/ Charley Varrick/ Cool Hand Luke/ The First Great Train
Robbery/ A Fistful of Dollars/ The Flim Flam Man/ Good Will Hunting/
Hard Times/ Harry In Your Pocket/ The Hunt for Red October/ The
Hustler/ In Like Flint/ Into the Night/ Jabberwocky/ Kelly's Heroes/
The Man Who Would Be King/ Midnight Run/ The Music Man/ My Name Is
Nobody/ A New Leaf/ Oliver/
One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest/ Our Man Flint/ Paint Your Wagon/ The
President's Analyst/ The Rainmaker/ Real Men/ The Stars Fell On
Henrietta/
The Sting/ Support Your Local Sheriff/ The Thomas Crown Affair/ Tin
Cup/
White Lightning/

3) When you are done with that, view the performance archives of
entertainment's greatest classical comedians, including but not
limited to : Abbot and Costello/ Amos and Andy/ Milton Berle/ George
Burns/ Bozo The Clown/ Charlie Chaplin/ Dick Van Dyke/ W. C. Fields/
Andy Griffith/ Bob Hope/ Groucho Marx/ Laurel and Hardy/ Lucille
O'Ball and Desi Arnez/ Our Gang/ Gomer Pyle/ Red Skelton/ The Three
Stooges/ The Marx Brothers/

As you can see, the list is drawn primarily from the sixties and
earlier....

4) I recommend that you should also review the television series of
the sixties. Those were very formative years for me at ages 4-14....

5) Everyone plays a role whether they want to or not. Since 1997 I
have been declared crazy by the VA. I even get paid a nominal sum in
the form of a disability pension for being crazy. I play my assigned
role with gusto!

Priests play the role "I am holy".
Politicians play the role "I am a good ruler".
Bankers play the role "I am trustworthy, so let me handle your money".
Teachers play the role "I am wise".
Actors play the role "I am entertaining".
Authors play the role "I am a good story teller".
Artists play the role "I am a creator of beauty".
Blah blah blah..... Most people play many roles over the course of
their lives, often a dozen per day. Acceptable behavior according to
society depends upon the onlookers' opinions of the appropriateness of
your current role in context, and whether you are following the
culturally ingrained rules.

Behaviors which I am enacting : entertaining, educated, intelligent,
secretive, thrifty, libertarian, capitalistic, spiritual but
definitely not religious, creative, inventive, adaptive

Behaviors which I am rejecting : obedient, reverent, submissive,
obsequious, slavish, respectful, inflexible, authoritative, violent,
destructive, intoxicated

Behaviors which I would enhance/ embrace if declared sane : (boy
scouts) Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind,
Cheerful, Brave, Clean, plus - lovable rather than obnoxious, wise
rather than wiseacre/idiotic, polite rather than rude, cultured rather
than boorish/ uncouth, sober rather than amusing/ frivolous,
consistent rather than unpredictable, thoughtful rather than
oblivious/ obtuse, industrious rather than lazy, tolerant rather than
prejudiced (I am not RACIALLY prejudiced to any significant extent),
truthful/ frank rather than misleading/ evasive

Writing this section took several hours. I think that it is accurate,
but self-delusion is one of my traits, so believe it or not, as you
please. As time passes my personal viewpoint evolves, so what is true
today may be inaccurate tomorrow. I have been back on monthly
injections of Haldol since Sept 7th, so theoretically I am not
currently psychotic....

I see only a few interpretations of your statement :
"Don't worry so much, that provision plainly doesn't apply to you."
1) You have only occasionally read the things which I posted.
2) You do not recognize/understand idiots, or you think that while I
am quite bizarre, I do not fit the bill as an idiot.
3) You think that I am an idiot.
4) You think that I am a very poor actor.
5) You think that I am easily fooled.
6) You are an idiot.
7) You wanted to see how I would respond.
8) You wanted to show how clever you are by making an ambiguous
statement.
9) You think that I was an idiot, but that I am no longer one.
10) You are also a poker of sticks into wasp nests.
11) You are not using the dictionary definition of "idiot", but
instead some acronym such as "interpret differently, indicates other
things".
12) You are willing (when prompted) to specify the choices which
match.
13) None of the above, something which I overlooked.
