Subject: Klondike/Snow Box Derby Updates

Folks,

Please see the two updates below regarding some district-level events happening soon in the Longhouse Council:

--
2012 Onondaga/Oneida Klondike is right around the corner!!  In the beginning of our planning stages we had a flood of volunteers offering to run stations but unfortunately the well has run dry.

We are dangerously close to canceling the following events if we do not get a Life/Eagle Scout or adult volunteers to run them by next Friday Jan 13th:

Snowshoe Race
Slingshot Game
Snow Sculpture Competition
Panning for Gold
Search & Rescue

If we are forced to cancel the above stations this will take 4 events away from the Cubs and 5 events away from the Scouts.

If you were thinking about volunteering, here's your chance!  Please email Christine @ christineolivad...@yahoo.comif you are able to help.

Christine

Cub scouts, their siblings, and friends (all must be no older than cub scout age) interested in joining scouting, are invited to come rumble on the Hill at Dry Hill Ski Area. Build your meanest, baddest, fastest, ugliest, sleekest, snow box sled and race it down the inner tube trails! There is not a theme for design so you can build anything your heart desires from a canoe to a monster truck, a pirate ship to sasquatch! Prizes will be awarded in each cub scout rank and a category for your siblings and friends will be judged too! Every entry will receive a cool patch to help cover up any wounds.  And because scouts gotta eat, every participant receives a $2 food coupon at the snack bar!

Please see the attached Word file for information about the Cub Scouts Snow Box Monster Jam that is being put on by the Tri-Rivers District on February 4th.

--

Stay tuned for more updates from your Longhouse Council, BSA!
