I am so impressed with you guys. That is awesome. I guess I really should have gone. So we need some video, pics, stories, etc... For those of us slackers that didn't go...

Thanks for such a great Atlanta showing!
That was really impressive.

If anyone has footage can you e-mail it to mad...@clemson.edu (maybe
through file-front or something similar)
If anyone took some pictures and ends up uploading them can you e-mail
me the link.

Thanks all for such a fun day and yall are welcome anytime

ill get some pics up in the next week or so... didn't get any from the
advanced race (obvious reasons.. makes it difficult to ride and take
pics at the same time) but got a lot of cool pics including a HUGE 3+
foot boneless 180 ryan pulled over the limbo bar...

Huge props to the clemson crew for doing it right.... would love to
come and check out the campus sometime.. finish grad school in 3
weeks so i should have some free time while searching for employment.

Ian pulled some sweet 180 nipple slides during the sesh.
I'm curious, what did you guys win?

That was a really fun day. The race was much tougher than I expected.
I hacked up my lungs for the rest of the day after the race. The mini-
events were really fun and the slide jam was just plain awesome. You
could really feel the energy and stoke that was going around. I was
able to pick myself up off the ground and hit a few more slides more
than I ordinarily would just from the vibe. Big thanks to Clemson crew
for putting on a really fun, all-day event that brought together lots
of riders from at least 3 states!

Highlights-
Ryan P. exiting the shuttle truck Navy SEAL style
Ian K.'s epic one-footed nose slide
Ross S. brazilian limbo tuck
Nguyen brothers racing neck and neck
Ryan P. manualling the entire parking lot, ftw!
all the slide competitors ripping it up!

I've got some pics and vids to share when I can get a hold of them.
Madison, I'd love to see some of the pics your lady photographer was
snapping.

Oh, and I am extremely sore.

I walked home with a Ladera Purple Heart mini complete , Ian walked
with an Original deck and Ryan took home an XVD drop thru deck. Ross
won the holiest shoe comp for a t-shirt.

Hey this is Robert Lee the director of the Garden Ride. I wanted to
thank all you guys again for coming. I really appreciate all the
enthusiasm and competition your group brought to our event. As
Madison said we are working to get an article written along with a
short video and event picture album compiled and posted.

We will also be posting the winners of all the events so it would be
great if I could get the full name of everyone who placed in an
event. Sorry, but I was running around a little too much to get
everybody's name.

On a somewhat comical and painful note - At one point during the
advanced race, the contestants were directed the wrong way. This
ended up adding an additional half mile to our trek. I didn't mention
this to anyone, but I wanted to congratulate everyone who finished
that race... it was fun, but also hell.

Last thing there was a slight discrepancy at the end of one of
advanced race. The racer who was awarded second place Al (I think),
actually placed third. It's not a problem, but I wanted to warn you
that when the standings are posted on the internet it will show that
he placed third instead of second. It's still a great accomplishment
and you still got a complete out of it, so I hope you aren't too
disappointed.

Again, Thank you guys so much for coming and I can't wait to skate
with you guys again in the future.

I KNEW IT.. damn, i shoulda gone up that hill.. i would have won had i
used my instincts based on the directions we were told...

and yes, although the long uphill earlier in the race kicked my ass,
that last 1/2 mile really put me over the edge...

awesome time.. thanks soo much.. .i think between clemson and Atlanta,
we could really do some damage in the next year combining forces..

cheers

robert - yeah, the extra half-mile didn't go unnoticed by anybody
racing advanced. that put the hurt on in a big way.
i thought you and i were tied for 2nd but they just gave me number 3.
i unknowingly cut the last corner around the hay bales at the end so i
guess that makes it even ;-)

Here's my standings:
Al Garcia
Hippie Jump - 1st place
Advanced Race - 3rd place
Advanced Uphill Knee Slide - Best in Show
