Beast Coast Longboarding is going all out to set up a for real
downhill racing circuit next year. From what I've read it is looking
to be between March and November and contain about 12 races, with one
or two per month. I think a few of us could get involved and maybe
bring one of the races to Georgia. In another discussion Chadd said
we may be able to get a permit to ride Powerhouse during the off
season which means we may be able to open it up for a sponsored
event. Not to mention GA riders could compete with the best the East
Coast has to offer; racing against the fastest and steeziest riders
around.

The main planning as far as I can tell is taking place in the Beast
Coast forums (http://www.beastcoastlongboarding.com/phpBB/
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=119). Now, I haven't read through the entire
thread, but I have read the first couple of posts and have seen
several posts on the Fish and these guys are serious. The guys
backing this are the movers and shakers on the East Coast; Earthwing
and Comet are on the list.

get IGSA to come to clayton GA. apparently they were considering it. i
can get that guy's contact info if we want to pursue this.

We would probably be better doing it in Blueridge. They close HWY 60 for a bicycle race every year. I have been hoping to see an IGSA event come to GA at some point. I would love to help. However, Powerhouse would be good for a fun local event, not a national level event. It's a 1/2 mile run. That would be sprints.

Find out who the dude is and get him on the group.

he's not active in the DH community anymore. he's gone some kind of
hardcore into pushing. he's organized some kind of relay push across
america with 2 other guys that's going down later this year. the most
i'd expect from him is the names of some locations to check out.

John..you've merged two different ppl. IGSA is a seperate deal.
MArion with DHB and three others are doing the coast to coast thing.
Never fear longboard fans - two real good events are already in the
works for the first quarter of 2010. To help demonstrate we have a
good scene (we know we have it, but others may not) a good showing at
the Earthwing push on Friday would be a plus.

What do you define as "real good events"? Quit teasing.... :)

yeah that sounds like something i would mix up. i can't keep track of
all these obscure people you know, john.

so is the guy who was running the DH scene in north GA still at it or
what was the deal there?

I mentioned Powerhill because I just don't know any other spots that
would be good for a race that we could almost definitely get
permission to ride.

The guy in Dahlonega spits his time between Florida and Dahlonega. As
for the events one is a side fest and the other is all about pure
speed. More details to come after we get past the Bowl Riders this
weekend. They will both be well supported by the industry.

That's awesome John! Shoot us some details when you get that point.
Good luck with the GBR event, hope it goes well. Praying for good
weather for you man.

We need more riding than races at the moment.

MANDINGO- i think the problem with events on a friday is that many of
us are fulltime workers as you can relate.. I would give anything to
be at an earthwing sponsored event as i love those guys but i cannot
get off of work as I am a teacher... a sat or sunday would have been
great
