Arduino Tutoring - Arduino Living room dimmable lamp

Somebody contacted us to get some tutoring, so this might be the occasion for one of our member to get paid to work on an interesting but simple project.

Here is the project:

"How to build a device that fades my living room lamp off and on again at every full hour. I though I could try to find someone that gives me "one on one" lessons in how to realise this project."

Contact me if interested

What do you mean "fades" because it looks like that they want a simple relay to turn on and off

It's a "dimmable" project so intensity of light would change depending on time of day.

Quoting her:

"I would like to make the lamp in my living room fade off and on (subtle dimming would be nice - but if that is really complicated, then simple off / on would be fine too) at every full hour.

It's a standard floor lamp similar to this: http://www.habitat.co.uk/tripod-dark-stained-ash-floor-lamp-base/floor-lamps//fcp-product/29256"

She says standard lamp but would be a lot easier (and safer) if it was LED based.

Yes you can use a leds strip 5050 that are very bright otherwise I found a very simple circuit to buy that you can hook up a 220v lamp and then control it via Arduino :)

What should I do? Just send the information how to build it or I have actually build it and then show to her how it works?

She's looking for tutoring as she wants to learn rather than to get a ready-made solution.

I think a LED based option would be safer, mostly because she is a beginner.

Should I forward her your email and you can discuss off list the details?
