It was cutting weaker and weaker (according to Tom Jobbins who was using
it) and also doing the wobbly cutting thing again.

I had a look at the mirrors and the mirror that reflects the beam down to
the work material has a smudge/mark on it so it looks like the mirror is
damaged and absorbing the laser beam.

I'll make sure it's switched off and has a do not use notice on it.

:( I think people who are trained on the laser cutter need to have it made clear that it's a precision instrument and you do have to be very careful to not knock it or touch it. I have seen a few people in the past being a bit sloppy handling materials, especially taking items from underneath after lasering. It's a natural reaction to try to immediately re-adjust something you've just knock by accident.

Thanks Jasper,

It seems there must be something loose I missed yesterday, will pop in and give it a once over.

I managed to find an fix the problem last night, hopefully this won't happen again!

Thanks to all for reporting the problem, had it gone unchecked it could have damaged the tube and the internals of the cutting chamber.

Hugs,

Sol
