Hi chaps. Im going to be looking on Ebay but it seems that we need a
storage locker for our dewar if we want to get busy with the fizzy.
I've measured up and we need at least 45cm x 45cm x 80cm space to fit
the dewar inside. If anyone has any suggestions (that other auction
site, pp maybe?) then do let me know.

Cheers

What are the actual requirements? could we make a simple locked cupboard?

Some steel angle-iron, mesh and an hour with the arc-welder.

On that matter though, what other gas bottles need to be caged?

Not sure. For now Im happy to get the the NO2 one properly secured so
we can get it filled. Not a bad idea Peter but I'll need to check if
there is anything we need to be "compliant" with.

There isn't - that would be fine. Just weld something together and
stick a hasp + padlock on it. It would probably be better to do it
ourselves because the dewar will need to wheel in and out, and I doubt
you'll find a locker like that.

None of our other gases need locking up.

Understood. I thought that might have been the issue. Good news
all-round then, especially as yes, I didnt find very many.

Three sided cage (fourth side will be the wall that it is screwed to) half
built and in the room with the Dewar. In the trolley and with the delivery
tube fitted the cage needs to be higher than the 800mm mentioned so will
hold off finishing until exact dimensions and location has been finalised.

It might be an idea to have in the cage the PPE (gloves, apron, goggles
etc.) required for safe use. If required I will make provision for those
too.

The gloves are an essential - the correct ones for sure. My
measurements for the cage were rough ones made by eye with a tape
measure as a guide for looking at storage lockers. when you are next
in phil, we should talk more about it.
