Hello,
I post below a detailed description about the workshop proposal for Sunday.=
=20
Please note materials will be provided so there's a fee to cover expenses=
=20
(it's the same as it was last time we had this workshop, but just want to=
=20
make sure everyone is aware of this).
Unless objections we would like to include it on the calendar tomorrow.
thanks,
CIRCUIT BENDING WORKSHOP
Date/time: Sunday 28th Oct, 2 pm to 7 pm
Location: Music Hackspace silent room (unless objections)
Materials: Materials and components are included and will be provided for=
=20
all participants, there is a fee of =C2=A325 to cover expenses.
Description: Learn the necessary techniques to turn hackable toys into=20
useful sound devices, electronic instruments or, who knows, sound=20
sculptures perhaps. This will be practical, hands-on workshops, including an=
=20
introduction to the most easy and effective bending techniques and a=20
presentation about instrument designs and musicians using hacked equipment.=
=20
Participants will have the opportunity of testing and hacking new projects.=
=20
Everyone is welcome to bring their own devices for bending, otherwise=20
hackable toys will be available.
The workshop will be lead by Tasos Stamou, a dedicated circuit bender and=
=20
an instrument modifier/designer. He has been utilizing his hacked creations=
=20
into various performances (such as at the BENT festival in NYC) and=20
recordings (labels: Absurd, Triple Bath, Errorcode). He is currently=20
concentrated into video-bending and DIY modular synthesizer research and=20
designs. www.tasosstamou.com http://stamouinstruments.blogspot.co.uk/
