Hi all,

Some weeks ago we had a first circuit bending workshop in the Music Hackspace, and there's some people interested in having some more sessions.

Here you can find some pictures of the first session: http://musichackspace.org/hackedsoundtoys/

We would like to organise a second meeting this Sun 28th Oct, would it be possible to make it this time in the Hackspace silent room, 2pm to 7pm? Does it sound good? Any objections, comments or questions please reply.

Thanks,

Sus.

Hello,

I post below a detailed description about the workshop proposal for Sunday. Please note materials will be provided so there's a fee to cover expenses (it's the same as it was last time we had this workshop, but just want to make sure everyone is aware of this).

Unless objections we would like to include it on the calendar tomorrow.

thanks,

CIRCUIT BENDING WORKSHOP
Date/time: Sunday 28th Oct, 2 pm to 7 pm
Location: Music Hackspace silent room (unless objections)
Materials: Materials and components are included and will be provided for all participants, there is a fee of £25 to cover expenses.
Description: Learn the necessary techniques to turn hackable toys into useful sound devices, electronic instruments or, who knows, sound sculptures perhaps. This will be practical, hands-on workshops, including an introduction to the most easy and effective bending techniques and a presentation about instrument designs and musicians using hacked equipment. Participants will have the opportunity of testing and hacking new projects. Everyone is welcome to bring their own devices for bending, otherwise hackable toys will be available.
The workshop will be lead by Tasos Stamou, a dedicated circuit bender and an instrument modifier/designer. He has been utilizing his hacked creations into various performances (such as at the BENT festival in NYC) and recordings (labels: Absurd, Triple Bath, Errorcode). He is currently concentrated into video-bending and DIY modular synthesizer research and designs. www.tasosstamou.com

Added to the Hackspace calendar.  I assume the Music Hackspace silent room is the small one upstairs, and not the quiet room in unit 24.

OK, as that wasn't made clear, I'll change the entry on the calendar to tentative to allow informed objections.

Hi Mark and all,

Yes, we mean the quiet room, thanks Paddy for clarifying this.
Unless objections it would be nice to confirm it on the calendar.

Thanks!
