I'm in favour of the big Borg server especially if it is capable of running VM images so individuals running compilations can have their own VM! yes power issues are real I have the same constraints with my HP servers and my sun box! The real constraints are where to put it, due to the noise of the fans and drives it would be better to tuck it away in the back ex-toilet if this does not disturb the laser cutter too much. The Borg server will be contactable through the internal network then it probably won't need access to t'internet, apart from updates so could be blocked until the early hours of the morning! I intend to use one of my boxes as a VM server. Very useful!
