"Inside Diamond is a series of public events, welcoming visitors to
Diamond to meet our scientists, find out about the exciting work taking
place here, and have a tour of the synchrotron itself.*
*

"The next Inside Diamond event will take place on the* 13th November*
*2010*. Please fill in the form below to express your interest in
attending, and you will be informed when booking opens.

"Diamond is a particle accelerator which uses a beam of electrons
travelling at almost the speed of light to create intense, powerful
beams of light. We use this light to study the atomic and molecular
structure of materials – everything from viral proteins to engine parts
and ancient texts – to help scientists understand more about the way the
world works."

Now would be a good time to express your interest in attending. I have.

Having been round Diamond before, it's well worth the visit. Fantastic
facility - if you're lucky they'll have the beam turned off on the
open day so you can go inside the accelerator ring (otherwise there's
a fair bit of radiation flying around in there and it's all locked down).

I'll be in the wrong bit of the country to attend, but I highly
recommend it and cheers for pointing it out Tom :)

Also, apologies for sending that email a) twice and b) misformatted. For
anyone who heard me cursing at my email last night at the space, let's
just say I'm still having a few issues.

I've expressed interest on the site there, too. Would be very
interesting.
