Hallo all.

On the coming Saturday, 25 May, we're meeting from 2pm for the first ever Hack the Space day. We aim to bring together experienced & new members with the intention of working on the space. Infrastructure improvements, cleanups, tool maintenance, … whatever we deem appropriate.

If you're an experienced member, have identified something that needs fixing, or have experience in the use and maintenance of particular tools, then we would love you to come and provide guidance to newcomers. This is a great opportunity to spread knowledge and improve our members' skills.

If you're new to the space, want to help out, want to get to know other members, become more familiar with the space, and maybe learn a few new skills, then this is a great opportunity to do so.

We'll meet at the sofa corner from 2pm to introduce each other, and to discuss what needs doing.

Hope to see you all there!

Reminder: this is tomorrow!

We'll meet at 2pm in the sofa area and make some plans. (Feel free to start suggesting things to do in this thread, otherwise we'll start with the various todo-lists and Jonty's new board.)

This was great fun! A sizeable group came to help, and lots of big and small things got done.

We should pick a date for the next one and then start announcing it to new members, e.g. during Tuesday tours. It makes for a great introduction to many random aspects of the space.

Would once a month be too often?

Probably not. Shall we say the last weekend of every month?

Agreed.  Also, I just mention that people have really been quietly getting lots of things done around the space.  I hadn't been to the space for a few weeks, but today I noticed how much neater the workshop looks.  I'm told that Billy organised all the scrap wood and metal, so well done, Billy!  And thanks to everyone else whose identities I don't know.

Thanks for everyone for doing cool stuff for the space.  Kinda feel guilty I couldn't make it, but will make a special effort to get to the next one.
