Has anyone bought one yet? the word on the grapevine last week was that someone had actually got one somewhere. If not i will happily go twos on it.

In order to minimise the chances of the blade snapping again, it would be useful to replace the missing blade guide pin, and the worn out bearing as detailed in http://www.drapertools.com/products/manuals/09681pl.pdf

I have emailed Draper regarding where the odd bits may be obtained...

Hi Ross,

I will go and order the bearing a pin form Tyzack tomorrow, assuming they don't quadruple the price (£1.93+vat).

The blades so far have been bought by individuals wanting to use the saw, but have not lasted very long. Hopefully that was mostly due to the duff and missing parts.

I'll let you know when there is news..

I have contacted Stockwell motor accessories for a blade (just down the road from me) and i might pop in to talk to them this afternoon. they seem to have a good range of blades.

Thanks for the help

Hello,

I am just bringing this up as I would like to use the bandsaw, I could not see it around the workshop (I am pretty bad at seeing things though) and I am sure I had seen it before. If there is anything wrong with it is there something I can do to try and repair it?

Regards

What size blades does it take? I have three at home at the moment and no bandsaw (long story)

There are 2 pieces missing. I ordered them and need to chase up. Without them it eats blades, as they are its guides..

Sent from my thing.

I think my blades are 56" 1/4-1/2.  Two are not fab, the other is a wood 12tpi (I think) - they're definately 56" 1/2

Right then... I got the parts, and despite them having the correct part nos on the bags, and fitting the descriptions, neither the replacement guide pin nor the bearing fit the unit. I'll email Draper, again.

I've just realised this too. It's the earlier model, and it looks like they went metric. Correct parts should be ordered soon, if available..

As that's 56 1/4" seems like it's the same as the desktop one I got rid of - do you want the blades?  May be more than 3...

bring them in if you can and we'll see. According to my calculations that's 1" out, but maybe that is within its adjust range..

Paddy

Ha.

Just received a reply from Draper. The bearing is no longer available. The pin is ONLY 31p! but out of stock with no eta.

I shall make a pin and measure the bearing, it is probably available somewhere..
