One strand of UCL's Open City Documentary festival http://www.opencitydocsfest.com this year is devoted to engineering: that's software engineering, product design, international development, infrastructure, and robots, among others.
Thought people might be interested in going: as well as screenings there's panel discussions, one of which I am for some reason chairing.
We're finishing with a big debate about why engineers and makers have fallen from grace: in the fifties we were supposed to be the saviours of society, now we're dudes who fix fridges. Featuring Mark Miodownik and Quentin Cooper http://www.opencitydocsfest.com/index.php?id=140
