Subject: "Hello World" Project and machine-tool inductions...

I came across this idea from an Italian hackspace,
http://7hillsmake.org/2012/03/22/hello-world-of-making-project/

It's a basic introductory project, that as a side-effect of building
it, means you have to learn how to use the 3d-printer, the pcb etching
tank, the laser-cutter, and the soldering station.

What could we come up with as a project that would give similar
introductions to the tools we've got?

Never mind learning those things, how about a project that involves
learning to empty the bin, put away the things in the kitchen and
stamp on the cockroaches ?

I think that's a brilliant idea and something I'd really enjoy and benefit
from

It's a nice idea, but right now I think we have a shortfall between
people willing to give training and people actively seeking it; I've
been waiting for nearly two years for laser cutter training.

bike lights
usb rgb led indicator with cover
plant watering alert thing (?)
animated 3d printed model of your (or someones) face (e.g. with blinking
eyes, opening and closing mouth).

Great idea, i've been trying to get induction to the laser-cutter and
soldering station for ages (beside others).
In one day to have a crash course would be handy. So +1 pls
