Hi guys,
Is there anyone out there with Photo-etching experience who is willing
to help a noob?
I'm making a PCB birthday card for my girlfriend. It is two double-
sided pieces (160x100) hinged.
The artwork is mainly vector drawings of Angry Birds, Draw Something
and Mario bros, etc.
There's also an MP3 player that starts playing songs when the card
opens.
The tracer widths range from 0.25mm upwards. The smallest pitch used
in functional circuitry is 0.8mm.
Does this sound doable with this method?
The Developer and FeCl have already been purchased. The boards are pre-
sensitized. (Do I need anything else?)
I read in a couple of places, that I need a UV Lamp (which I don't
have)
Is there one at the space? Or does anyone reading this have one handy?
Any idea where I can rent one suitable to do this job?
Can anyone give any recommendations with regards to toner and
transparencies?
As said before, it's specific to photo-etching.
Would it be bat-shit crazy to print transparencies on an inkjet or
with wax toner?
Or, even better, does anyone have access to an experienced printing
setup appropriate for printing photo-etch transparencies?
I should be ready to etch on Thursday, (Hopefully with a couple test
boards to hand for exposure timing)
I'll be soooooo greatful for any help I can get on this!
Pretty Please!
Happy to provide food or beer for any efforts!
Cheers,
Graeme J
