Good idea, and nice to hear from you Amran. How are things going with HS
Amsterdam?

Could these be printed on vinyl like the Hackspace stickers (write on with
a Sharpie TM)?
I will print up a sheet or two of paper ones pro tem.

the amsterdam hackspace is in gestation and almost at full term.

there was a small group who went to CCC camp, who on their return decided to setup a small group with the aim to create a hackerspace. i've been involved and egging them on ever since i arrived

we will very shortly have a legal entity. and we're a hairs width from having a space in a building which has been converted to provide artists studio/workspaces, on the cheap.l i think its some government scheme. the name for our hackerspace is techinc. a wiki is up but incomplete. things are kinda rushed and we have little time to polish things but we're coming along nicely.

we're hoping to announce ourselves at ccc in berlin this december. we will have a 'pre launch' party on fri 13th jan to announce ourselves to amsterdam and all the hackers/creatives that are here (and there are many. it amazes me they dont already have a hackspace).

i'll spam the list with more info once the event location/agenda is confirmed. it will be lightning talks, followed by a social event with some level of hackery

we will also having a launch party. i hope some LHS'ers can attend!

I thought there'd been a couple of attempts, but they'd died out. Hope
you get more success with this one.

the last couple of attempts were done by hackers who took the squatter concept for having a space

naturally this didnt last long, each and every time.

our space is paid for and we have the option of staying there for 10 years. i think

im hoping we'll become popular, popular enough to have a space somewhere in the centre of the city. right now this is where it will be, assuming we get the contract (which we expect to) http://g.co/maps/d2f9f

we have around 30 people who will become members straight away. im hoping it will be as high as 50 at launch.

Glad to hear that things are going well, the little group that I met here
were really nice and seemed really keen. Please let us know more as things
progress.
