This is an A1 OS Mastermap (ie the most detailed national map) of the area around the hackspace. It was printed using the selex printer, and is on the wall next to the door. The idea is that people write where useful stuff is on it.

There are no street names because I haven't done text oriot for the HP-GL/2 mode of my map program yet, but I think it looks cool anyway.

Massive thanks to jonty for saving the printer.

Oh and print time was ~15 minutes for the printer to think about stuff, and 10 minutes to actually print.

Yeay!

I like that the residential block opposite Hackney Community College has its own hidden H.

I added a wiki page: http://wiki.hackspace.org.uk/wiki/Equipment/Selex

You basically need to convert your document to HP-GL/2 (vector) or
HP-RTL (raster). Inkscape claims to be able to do this but I haven't
tried it. What do you want to print?

Ooooh, that's fantastic.
Any chance of doing any requests of areas to print?

Ideally, I'd love a map of where I live. But given that's York, I'm unlikely to be able to print it in the london space :)

Any chance someone could do it for beer money, a donation to the space and postage to get it to me?
