Subject: Pillar drill (Axminster ED16SB)
The worktable on the subject tool has had a stiff vertical adjustment for
some time.

On investigation the worm gear that drives the table up and down is
partially stripped (probably due to inferior quality materials rather than
abuse). The gear and handle have been removed and the table can now be
moved up and down by hand.

Please take care when slackening the lock, support the table with your
free hand or it will crash to the base causing damage to you, your work,
the tool or all three.

The worn part has been cable-tied to the motor support pending location of
a replacement. If anyone wants to research supply of a new part please
feel free....

Phil

Subject: Re: [LHS-Infrastructure] Pillar drill (Axminster ED16SB)

I'm hoping that there's a sign or similar on the pillar drill telling
people about this as not everyone reads this list ;)

Thanks for this!
