Tweed residents lashed out at the coal-seam gas (CSG) industry at a fiery public meeting in Murwillumbah last Thursday amid concerns over its potentially destructive impact on the environment.
A director of the industry's lobby group, the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association (APPEA), bore the brunt of community anger after bravely fronting the meeting in response to concerns raised.
Ross Dunn, APPEA's director of Queensland CSG, was heckled by the crowd throughout his presentation, with some storming out of the meeting.
