Fracking, Keystone XL, Embridge Kalamzoo Spill, Climate Change, Divestment

Bill McKibben, Michael Brune, Van Jones, Naomi Klein, Jim Hansen; all join forces in the battle against Keystone XL, tar sands, fracking, and those who pollute Earth's atmosphere and climate with excess carbon dioxide.  What do we need?  Wind, solar, and divestment from the fossil fuel industry!

This Sunday, April 19, at 7 p.m., an amazing new film, more powerful and important than the Inconvenient Truth, premieres across the nation, "Do the Math" on the climate, by 350.org.  I viewed it just now, to make sure my copy will play flawlessly; and what a great tool this is!  Take a look at the trailer to get a taste!

There are dozens of free screenings already organized around Michigan, including: Middleville, Grand Rapids, Hopkins, Muskegon, Fennville, Kalamazoo, Traverse city, Empire, Bear Lake(!), Ann Arbor, Detroit, Grosse Pointe Woods, Sault Ste. Marie, Houghton.

What a great way to celebrate Earth Night on Sunday, by signing up to host a house party or a local screening; or attending one near you.  

For me, the best thing about such events is meeting other like-minded people, often future friends, people who understand the issues, and are willing to take action.  This is an organizing event, a nation wide one, and one not to miss.
