Sharon Olds, the renowned American poet, reads from her work. Sharon
Olds is Professor of English at NYU and was granted, among other awards,
the T. S. Eliot Prize short list for The Father, England, 1994; the
Lila Wallace-Reader's Digest Writer's Award, 1993-1996; and the National
Book Critics' Circle Award for The Dead and the Living, 1984.New York
State poet laureate from 1998-2000, the /New York Times /has said of her
work: "like Whitman, Ms. Olds sings the body in celebration of a power
stronger than political oppression."
Rounds begin at 5 p.m. followed by refreshments free and open to the
public.
