SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS FOR THE FOLLOWING COLLOQUIUM:

"LEGAL DISCOURSE AND SOCIAL INQUIRY: its interpretation and innovative
directions"

Content: It will give contributors an opportunity not only to re-assess the
linguistic descriptions of legal discourse, but also consider the utility of
the latter in relation to former and/or oncoming social, political,
legislative or jurisprudential developments. The topics and aspects to be
discussed could be speech acts, conversational structures, linguistic
(grammatical and lexical) phenomena in spoken and written sub-genres.

Subject:  Historical Lexicography and Lexicology

SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS.

Papers are invited on any subject in the fields of historical
lexicography and historical lexicology. They should be approximately
twenty minutes long, and will be followed by ten minutes for
questions. Some contributors may be invited to speak for longer.
Submissions are also invited for sessions, which should be an hour and
a half in length, and could consist of roundtable discussions,
demonstrations, or linked papers.  There will also be an opportunity
for conference participants to exchange notes and queries. These
should last no more than five minutes.  The conference language is
English, but papers dealing with other languages are welcomed.

Dictionary of Old English, Toronto; Eric Stanley, University of
Oxford; Ian Lancashire, University of Toronto; Elaine Treharne,
University of Leicester; Juan Gabriel Vázquez González, University
of Huelva; Gregory James & So Ming-cheung Bronson, Hong Kong
University of Science and Technology; Edwin Lovatt, University of
Leeds; Brian Merrilees, University of Toronto; Rod McConchie,
University of Helsinki; Julie Coleman, University of Leicester; Juhani
